A NORTHEAST AFRICAN KASKARA SWORD
The Damascene blade inlaid with yellow metal Arabic script along its full length, the grip heavily embossed and partially wire-wrapped, the pommel with chased geometric decoration and polyhedron finial. Blade measures approx. 86cm in length; the sword, 104cm overall
Condition overall is good. Sword is solid, with only minimal play in the pommel. Grip, cross guard and pommel are generally tarnished. The bade is corroded/lightly rusted over much of its length. Yellow metal inlay is inconsistent over blade's length with large absences. Blade is slightly bent/warped, likely from having been propped up against a wall for an extended period.
