Here at Great Western Auctions and going under the hammer this Wednesday, two great examples of Gibson Banjos.
Lot 322 a GIBSON BLACKJACK
BANJO five string Gibson J.D. Crowe RB-75 Blackjack banjo serial number 75-0404-12 with Gibson fitted hardshell banjo case
These rare and beautiful banjos were made for a limited time and are very desirable; constructed to emulate the pre-war Granada model of the 1920's. The hardware is first copper flashed and then thinly satin gold plated. The overall look is that of satin gold, raw brass, and some tinges of copper to replicate a 1930’s finish. The mahogany neck and resonator are finished in a vintage brown/red colour with aged white binding and concentric rings. The fingerboard features an inlay pattern exclusive to the BlackJack model
