A GEM SET BUTTERFLY BROOCH
set with sapphires, rubies, pearls and rose cut diamonds. Dimensions 4.4cm x 3.5cm, weight 14.5gms
Approximately late 29th early 20th century, as it is not hallmarked cant be exact. the middle sapphire displays hexagonal zoning, others do too, but mostly straight parallel zoning lines, rubies also have inclusions indicative of the corundum family. diamonds are quite rough cut rose cuts. The pearls look to be natural pearls. The white metal is the predominant metal, I cant test the yellow metal as I would mark it. Use the estimate I have given as a guide.
