A LATE-VICTORIAN SCOTTISH SILVER PRESENTATION VASE
by Mackay & Chisholm, Edinburgh 1896, from the St. Andrew's Ambulance Association Dunfermline Centre, the vase embossed with naturalistic bands of thistles and anthemions, with a band of mullets, with an inscribed band 'PRESENTED BY WILLIAM MATHEWSON', the body inscribed 'ST.ANDREW'S AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION DUNFERMLINE CENTRE 1897' engraved with an image of St. Andrew and the Saltire, inscribed to the body with recipient's names, with further names on plate banding on the stepped ebonised base, vase 27.5cm high, 17.5cm diameter, base 20cm high, 1,249gms / 40.15oz
