A 19th CENTURY ITALIAN 1860 PATTERN CAVALRY SABRE
The fullered blade measuring approx. 89cm in length and housed in a steel scabbard, the ricasso stamped "S&K" (Schnitzler & Kirschbaum) and "PF" verso, the grip of leather and partially wire-wound

More Information

Scabbard is heavily tarnished, with widespread surface rust. Likewise, the guard and pommel. Sword is resistant to leave scabbard towards its tip. A large loss to leather grip, revealing the wound cord beneath. Most of wire outer winding is also lost. Grip and guard are firmly affixed to blade, with no play. Blade is unsharpened, with tarnish along much of its length and spots of light surface rust. Minor nicks to cutting edge.
