In fairly rough overall condition. Metal stringing has lifted in many areas, with losses. Substantial chips/losses around the edge of the flared base. Tortoiseshell panel to rear of lid with cracks (one being approx. 3.5cm in length) and chips to corners. Bun feet all loose to varying degrees, with one appearing to have been heavy-handedly reaffixed with glue. Paper covering to underside worn, with losses. Ivory internal stringing cracked with losses around hinges. Hinges themselves rather stiff and not securely attached to lid (the wood beneath the chipped ivory being damaged similarly). Lids to internal compartments lack handles. Lining very deteriorated.
