William Crosbie has an uncompromising and distinctive style, and he is considered one of the most influential painters of the 20th century and a master of surrealism. Born in China to Scottish Parents, and later returning to Scotland, he worked alongside colourist John Duncan Fergusson and poet Hugh MacDiarmid. Crosbie’s work is held in major galleries across Scotland, as well as The Royal Collection and The British Museum.
