A TRAPRAIN REPLICA ROMAN SPOON
by Brook & Son, Edinburgh 1928, with elongated shell bowl engraved with the Christian symbol Chi Rho and with narrow tapering stem, in original case, 21cm long, 26gms / 0.83oz
The haul of Roman silver found a Traprain Law in 1919 was copied by Brook & Sons. The production continued into the mid 1930's. Very few of the Roman pieces were discovered intact, hence why the Brook & Sons replicas are interpretations rather than completely faithful to the originals.
