with crew-neck collar, label on collar removed, some staining and discolouration, with letter of provenance from the son of Inter Milan captain Armando Picchi
The above shirt was gained by Inter Milan Captain Armando Picchi as a swap with Bertie Auld after the 1967 European Cup final match.
In the final played on 25th May 1967 at Estádio Nacional, Lisbon, Celtic went behind to a seventh minute penalty scored by Sandro Mazzola. Celtic equalised through Tommy Gemmell just after the hour mark before Stevie Chalmers then put Celtic in the lead after 84 minutes which turned out to be the winning goal. The cup-winning side were nicknamed the Lisbon Lions and considered to be the greatest side in the club's history. The victory allowed Celtic to become the first ever British team, and first team from northern Europe, to win the prestigious and much coveted European Cup.
