Henryk Gotlib made a significant contribution to British Art, and settled in Britain during World War II. The painter, draughtsman, writer and printmaker was inspired by European Expressionism, and merged both British and European inspiration through a revolutionary use of colour and form. Gotlib lived and worked in England from 1939 and he became a member of The London Group, a highly regarded society of artists.
