Together with a later four-volume edition - The Scots Musical Museum; consisting of six hundred songs, with proper Bases for the painoforte and now accompanied with copious notes and illustrations of the lyric poetry and music of Scotland by the late William Stenhouse, William Blackwood and Sons, Edinburgh, 1853

Older set - bindings are later and in fairly rough condition. Vol. I with upper cover detached and remains of an old taped repair. Vol. II with upper cover almost detached, hanging by a cord. Vol. IV with upper cover beginning to separate similarly. Vol. V with upper cover detached. Vol. VI with both covers detached.
Vol. I - newspaper cutting pasted to inside front cover. Preface dated 1787. Text complete. Pages discoloured and foxed throughout. Wear to page edges.
Vol. II - ownership inscription of Amelia Stuart Dalguise, 1794 to title. Pages generally as above but with worm to top corner throughout first half.
Vol. III - text as above but with damp staining to upper right corner throughout (worst towards title).
Vol. IV - some fading to title. Otherwise, as above.
Vol. V - title rather faded. Bookseller's annotations to endpapers. Otherwise, as above.
Vol. VI - a possible repaired tear to title. Some worm to corner towards end.
Reprinted set - in fair overall condition, with significant wear to spines, bumped corners and discolouration to covers. Vol. I with facsimile titled inserted loose. Foxing throughout, particularly to page edges. Some off-setting where loose facsimile title has been inserted at random. Folding facsimile letter is present, with much foxing. All volumes with endpapers split to hinge.
