Gibbons studied at Glasgow School of Art in the later 1950s, and was a member of the Young Glasgow Group of artists who exhibited independently and moved in the circle of JD Fergusson and Margaret Morris. She has exhibited extensively ever since.

The picture presents in fair, stable condition but has extensive fine craquelure, and some shrinkage. Minor spot/line flaring under UV
