The lockplate engraved with VR cipher and dated 1866, the sighted barrel measuring approx. 20.5cm in length; together with another slightly larger percussion pistol, the lockplate engraved with crown device, "Tower" and dated 1876, the barrel stamped with Birmingham proof marks and measuring approx. 18.5cm in length (2)
1866 pistol holds half and full-cock well. Trigger with minimal play and a sensitive release. Hammer releases with a firm action.
1876 pistol holds half and full-cock well. In full-cock, the hammer is not held as far back as the mechanism could potentially allow (please see additional images showing both pistols in a fully-cocked position). Trigger with a little play. Hammer releases with a fairly firm action.
