A collection of snuffboxes, largely of combined horn and tortoiseshell construction
General condition of the collection is good, though with flaws throughout. General scratching and surface wear. Losses to tortoiseshell on three. Two with hairline cracks to horn bodies. The lid will not sit flush on one rectangular horn box with tortoiseshell lid. Losses to white metal inlay on the smallest rectangular box. Elliptical burrwood box with chips to edge of lid. In total, eight boxes would be considered damaged beyond the usual wear/patination through use.
