A 19TH CENTURY FRENCH BOULE "BONHEUR DU JOUR" LADIES WRITING DESK
with brass galleried top over pair of tortoise shell inlaid doors with oval centre reliefs over pair of short drawers, flanked by brass ormolu mounted corners on serpentine desk base with single long drawer on ormolu mounted cabriole supports, 130cm high x 76cm wide x 51cm deep
Desk is in fair condition relative to age and use with minor losses/lifting of brass and tortoiseshell inlays, surface wear to top, writing surface, sides and supports inclusive of minor losses to ebonised veneers, there is also some signs of historic woodworm though does not appear to be active
