brass bound with brass carry handles, hinged top concealing internal lift out tray, top marked "No 18 Control Lord Roberts" which may be attributable to a Field Marshall Earl Frederick Sleigh Roberts who served during the Boer war, 52cm high x 76cm wide x 55cm deep

Chest is in a fair condition relative to age and use with much wear and deuteriation to external finish though does not exhibit any sign of loss of structural integrity, feet are later rubber replacements
