ART DECO LADIES COMPACT & CIGARETTE CASE
the silver cases both with guilloche enamel with central motif set with opal doublets, onyx and marcasites. Made by Adie Brothers, with Birmingham hallmarks for 1937. Cigarette case with inscription dated 1940, dimensions 6.7cm x 8.2cm. Compact dimensions 7.2cm x 7.3cm. Both in a made to measure fitted box. Weight of the compacts together 206.3gms, in the box 371.8gms
Cigarette case; Enamel; white edge, no chips minor scratches and abrasions, seen with a loope, bearly visible by eye. Pink enamel; one small flake chip missing from bottom right hand corner, very light scratches if any, please see photo 4, for clarity. No damage to the opal, tiny gap to one edge, this is from the stone cutting & not damage. One small dent to the back, see photo 13, inscribed inside. Clasp ok.
