Cloth is well worn, with three deep gauges to the upper cover. Marked in multiple areas. Significant wear to corners and upper and lower spine, with splits to the cloth. Spine is somewhat darkened. The text block sits a little askew within the binding, giving the book a squashed look if viewed from the top or bottom. Foxing to endpapers. Some foxing internally, mostly near to page edges. Pages are somewhat yellowed. Title page with Kipling's name scored out and signature beneath. Dated beneath "Dec 9 1910", the location indistinct. No other inscriptions, bookplates etc.
