of shaped rectangular form, the lid with bright cut border and a central oval cartouche with engraved initials 'AB', plain pepper pot grill, by Thomas Phipps & Edward Robinson, London 1798, 1.8cm wide
some minor surface scratches - hinge on grill is fine, one very small dent to the rim outer bottom rim which seems like it is from when the engraving was done rather than a new dent. The makers mark to the bottom is slightly faded but to the interior lid is fine - all other marks legible
