A SUBSTANTIAL DIAMOND RING
set with a large shallow old mine cut diamond of estimated approx 10mm x 8.5mm cushion shape in a closed back setting, surrounded with fleur de lis shapes set with rose cut diamonds. Head of the ring approx 19.5mm x 17.8mm, finger size L, weight 6.7gms
Mount ok, medium general wear, all diamonds firm in their settings. The gallery is hand cut and pretty. Due to the central diamond being in a closed back setting, it's impossible to put this ring in an ultrasonic cleaner to clean behind the stones, I've had a go with a toothbrush the ones round the edge are open backed apart from the two directly over the shoulders are easy enough to clean. the central diamond does have some dirt behind it, the foil appears cloudy, which gives it a bit of age, the diamond itself has a couple of very small inclusions, only the tiny carbon dot is eye visible.
