Provenance: Jim McInally (b. 1964), Scottish football manager and former player. 

Of iconic status in the history of the Dundee United, the 1987 UEFA Cup Final was the club's  first, and so far only, major European final appearance. Jim McInally played in every round of the contest, scoring against Hajduk Split in their third round, first leg clash. McInally, who was in his first season with United, later commented that their 1-0 quarter-final victory over Barcelona "was probably the best [match] of my entire career".
