AN EARLY-20th CENTURY CASED TAXIDERMY TERRIER
Modelled recumbent upon a pink velvet cushion, wearing a coordinating ribbon collar, the glazed case measuring approx. 48cm high x 63.5cm wide x 29cm deep, exclusive of the added ebonised frame
By repute, the terrier was named Fruach.
Terrier is sealed within the glazed case, preventing close inspection. Condition appears good overall. The fur is a little bare around the nose. Beneath the chin there are a number of dark flecks (possible evidence of moth). The velvet cushion is faded. A split to the blue backdrop along the joint of the two backboard panels. Flecks of white paint to exterior of glass. Further paint splashes to ebonised frame.
