Books are uninscribed. Bookseller's pencil annotation to top corner of each first free endpaper. All books with folding map present, though in The Fellowship of the Ring it is detached.
Slip case marked and with significant wear/tears to corners and edges.
The Fellowship of the Ring with a small tear to cloth of upper cover along top edge. Marks to covers and to page edges. Bumps to head and foot of spine. Folding map present, though detached, with some creasing and a small tear. Jacket lightly marked through handling.
The Two Towers generally good. One significant mark to centre of lower cover. Minor marks to covers otherwise. Some discolouration to first first free endpaper.
The Return of the King good overall. Some very minor marks to cloth covers and a very small frayed area to top edge. Finger marks to first free endpaper and occasionally thereafter.
Throughout all three volumes, pages are generally in very good condition, with only very occasional marks/flaws. Though with some aesthetic issues, this is a well looked after set and very presentable.
