A PAIR OF EMERALD AND DIAMOND BROOCHES the gems set into white metal mounts with yellow metal pins and clasps. The emeralds are mixed step cuts with rose cut diamonds, diameter 2.8cm, weight 18.3gms
Do you know the ages of the earrings? A; no, from the style of the diamonds I think mid 19th Century. Are they boxed? A; they are not in an 'Original box' so there are no clues to be had there. I have put them in a box. Are they of Eastern manufacture? A; No, I don't think so from the fittings to the back and the overall style I would say continental possibly Mediterranean. General condition; some of the diamonds have been replaced with glass gems. The diamonds that are there are either polki style, thin slithers or fairly rough rose cuts, some just natural unpolished crystals. the emeralds are much the same, some have cracks and chips, as well as natural inclusions. The brooch mounts are in yellow metal, nicely made.
