A LATE-19th CENTURY SWISS CYLINDER MUSIC BOX
By P.V.F. of St. Croix, playing four Scottish Airs (Bonnie Blue Flag, The Blue Bells of Scotland, Annie Louise and Logie o' Buchan), with marquetry inlay to lid, measuring approx. 34cm wide x 12cm high x 17cm deep

Currently, when wound, the movement begins to play without issue and will continue to the end of the selected air. The air plays at a consistent tempo and is pleasantly in tune. The teeth of the comb appear undamaged. Tarnish throughout the movement with occasional patches of more significant surface rust. Greasy residue throughout from the oiling of components. The case generally faded and worn. One loss to the marquetry inlay of the lid. Corners of the lid are all worn, with losses to the ebonised finish. The back lefthand corner appears to have been roughly revarnished.
