AN IMPERIAL GERMAN PRUSSIAN OFFICER'S PICKELHAUBE
With scaled chinstrap, the spike having star fittings; with canvas cover applique numbered in red felt "125"
Canvas cover is heavily worn, with multiple tears and old repairs. General discolouration/staining, particularly where the metal securing hooks have rusted. Felt insignia is similarly worn, with the stitching beginning to unravel at points.
Pickelhaube is in a worn overall condition, with surface dirt and occasional patches of white mould. Crown is crazed. Metal fittings all tarnished/dulled. Some light surface rust to rosettes. Internally, a number of tears to the leather sweatband. Red neck guard lining is bubbled. Two-piece silk lining is tattered and hanging loose.
