AN OPALITE & DIAMOND RING
set with an 11mm x 9mm x 1.9mm mainly red blue opalite, surrounded with halo of diamonds with an estimated approx diamond total of 0.30cts, mounted in 18k gold, finger size R1/2, weight 4.7gms
On close inspection, this is a man made opal, well made and interesting, from the front you would never know, the sides show column growth, and the back has tell tale fine lines.
Diamonds; one has a surface reaching linear crystal, a tiny speckle of carbon throughout (which you can only just see with a loope) & occasional crystal inclusion, other than that diamonds are bright and a good colour. Mount medium general wear. A beautiful ring.
