A 1930s pink silk satin evening dress with applied velvet flower corsage to the waist and a purple velvet cape with ruched shoulders; together with a lace train and matching tiered wedding dress (4)
Satin dress: There are marks across the dress and discolouration particularly to the hem. Corsage is loose and petals have stains and discolouration. Side opening has ripped along the seam. The back of the bodice area is detached from the skirt. The net lining has rips. There are underarm stains. The skirt is very creased around the fishtail and there are lines sewn across it and a small hole at the back. Purple cape: There are three ruched sections one of which is very loose compared to the others. One side is sewn up to make an armhole and the other is not. There are marks across the garment. Lace dress: There are tears, holes, stains, discolouration and repairs across the lace of the bodice. The bodice is particularly fragile. There are holes and discolouration to the skirt. Hem is discoloured especially at the back. Looks like there was mesh on the hem of the satin lining which has been torn off. The satin also has underarm stains and rips. The dress is overall discoloured in comparison to the train. Train: Some spots of discolouration and a missing section of lace on one side. There are coins sewn into the hem. The fastening is missing.
