QUEEN ELIZABETH II AND PRINCE PHILIP, DUKE OF EDINBURGH
A pair of large portrait photographs by Anthony Buckley, both signed by their subjects, dated respectively 1968 and 1974, each image measuring approximately 75.5cm x 60.5cm, housed in similar oak frames, measuring approximately 110cm x 85cm externally (2)

Provenance: The Royal Northern & Clyde Yacht Club

Note: Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were patrons of the Royal Clyde Yacht Club from 1953, through its merger with the Royal Northern Yacht Club in 1978, and continuing in that capacity until 2002. They visited the Club during its 150th Anniversary celebrations in 1974, during which Prince Philip signed the portrait here offered. The pair were hung together in the Club's Oriana room for many years. Included with the lot are contextual notes compiled by Jon Reid, Hon. Archivist of the RNCYC, which feature photographs of Prince Philip signing his portrait and Queen Elizabeth viewing hers during that occasion.
